Jan Strijbos, 'Little boy on chair', 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Full-length portrait of a boy sitting on a chair. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear, an ornament is missing at the bottom left. Dimensions: image plane 42.5 x 32 cm, with frame 61.3 x 51.8 x 2 cm.
