H. Jan Schouten, 'Still life with fruit bowl', 1982. Oil on canvas. Still life of a white fruit bowl surrounded by fruit. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 54 x 44 cm, with frame 57.7 x 47.9 x 1.8 cm.
