Jan Strijbos, 'Pastor on Solex', 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Painting of a pastor on a moped with people swimming and sunbathing on the roadside and in ditches, with five Arabs and one European in the foreground. Signed lower right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 55 x 45 cm, with frame 64 x 54 x 1.2 cm.
