Jan Strijbos, '25 Years ordained priest, but no salvation', 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Full-length portrait of a clergyman and a woman. Title at bottom centre. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good. Dimensions: image plane 38.3 x 32 cm, with frame 54.5 x 39.8 x 2.8 cm.
