Jan Strijbos, 'Adam and Eve', 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in a wooden frame. Painting of a tree with two people sitting at its base. Title at bottom left. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 44.8 x 39 cm, with frame 48.5 x 43 x 2 cm.
