Jan Strijbos, 'Tantum ergo, honour this miracle', 'D-N 2-1 sad', 1978. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Full portrait of three people sitting on a bench. Title and signature at bottom left. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 37.5 x 33 cm, with frame 51 x 40 x 2.2 cm.
