H. Jan Schouten, 'Fair', 1985. Oil on canvas. Portrait of three people in costume. Title on the reverse of the canvas. Signature at bottom left. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good, signs of wear on frame. Dimensions: image plane 55.2 x 44.8 cm, with frame 57 x 46.5 x 3 cm.
