H. Jan Schouten, 'Breakfast', 1983. Oil on canvas. Still life of a breakfast of bread, egg and a yellow drink. Signature at bottom left. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good, signs of wear on frame. Dimensions: image plane 35.2 x 40.6 cm, with frame 36.4 x 41.3 x 3.5 cm.
