H. Jan Schouten, 'It is finished', 1981. Oil on canvas. Still life of tree surrounded by tools and other objects. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 50.5 x 60.3 cm, with frame 57.5 x 67.5 x 4 cm.
