H. Jan Schouten, 'North coast of Aruba', 1986. Oil on canvas. Landscape painting of a rocky coast. Title on the reverse of the canvas. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good, signs of wear on frame. Dimensions: image plane 50 x 60 cm, with frame 51,4 x 61 x 3 cm.
