H. Jan Schouten, 'Aruba', 1986. Oil on canvas. Landscape painting of dry hills. Title on the reverse of the canvas. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good, signs of wear on frame. Dimensions: image plane 50.2 x 40.3 cm, with frame 51.4 x 41.5 x 2.5 cm.
