H. Jan Schouten, 'Blue Grapes', 1987. Oil on canvas. Still life of a fruit bowl accompanied by a jug, a glass, a book and a knife. Title on the reverse of the canvas. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good. Dimensions: image plane 50.3 x 60.2 cm, with frame 64.9 x 75 x 5 cm.
