Jan Strijbos, 'Farmer Peerke', no date. Oil on panel in wooden frame. Three-quarter portrait of a man near a plant on a light background. Signature is missing. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 21.5 x 18.9 cm, with frame: 24.5 x 21.8 x 2.3 cm.
