Jan Strijbos, 'Drieka, thank our Lord for a new life', 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. That is not from our dear Lord, Father, but from our Piet”. Signed at the bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear, gap at top left in list. Dimensions: image plane 58 x 48 cm, with frame 64.5 x 54.5 x 2.3 cm.
