H. Jan Schouten, 'Rocky landscape', c. 1948. Oil on a panel. Painting of a dark mountain landscape. Signature at bottom centre. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good. Dimensions: canvas 115 x 134 x 2.7 cm.
