H. Jan Schouten, 'On the coast', 1970. Crops in East Indian inkt on paper, unframed. Black-and-white illustration of the coast with mountains in the background. Title on the reverse of the work. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: tape residue on the reverse. Dimensions: 36.5 x 50 cm.
