H. Jan Schouten, 'Coastal landscape in the dunes', no date. Pastel chalk and black chalk/paper in a wooden frame. Illustration of dunes with sea in background. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: shows signs of wear Dimensions: 30.3 x 40.3 cm, with frame 35 x 45 x 3.6 cm.
