H. Jan Schouten, 'Studio corner (Still life with plaster statue and crown)', no date. Oil on canvas. Still life of a bust surrounded by posters. Title on the reverse of the canvas. Signature at bottom right. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good. Dimensions: image plane 95 x 74.8 cm, with frame 96 x 76 x 2.5 cm.
