H. Jan Schouten, 'In the yard', 1948-1981. Oil on canvas. Still life with a broom, clogs and other objects. Signature at bottom left. Jan Schouten (Rotterdam 1906 - Gouda 1987). After studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg, he settled in Gouda in 1949 as a painter. He was the director of the Stedelijke Musea Gouda from 1956 until he retired. Condition: good. Dimensions: image plane 90 x 70.5 cm, with frame 91.3 x 71.5 x 2.5 cm.
