Jan Strijbos, 'Mother with child and cat on a bench, with blooming tulips in the background', 1975-1980. Oil on hardboard in a wooden frame. Full-length portrait of a woman and child sitting on a bench. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good. Dimensions: image plane 43 x 35.5 cm, with frame 55.3 x 48.2 x 1.9 cm.
