Jan Strijbos, 'Promised Love', 1970-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Full-length portrait of two people. Title at bottom left. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good. Dimensions: image plane 44 x 39.3 cm, with frame 57.5 x 52.6 x 2.4 cm.
