Jan Strijbos, 'Mother of wisdom', 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Full length portrait of a woman seated on a chair among flower bushes. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good. Dimensions: image plane 37.4 x 31 cm, with frame 50 x 36.5 x 2 cm.
