Jan Strijbos, 'Watch out, the sun is setting', 1975-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Painting of six people in the water next to a row of trees. Title at bottom left. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 40.5 x 39.5 cm, with frame 59 x 46 x 2.7 cm.
