Jan Strijbos, 'The pianist's dream - Ave Maria,' 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Full portrait of two women and a man, surrounded by nuns and angels. Title is at bottom center. Signature at bottom right. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 36.9 x 47.3 cm, with frame 55 x 58.3 x 2 cm.
