Jan Strijbos, 'Pastor and Woman', 1960-1980. Oil on hardboard in wooden frame. Bust portrait of a pastor and smiling woman at a small table with a bottle of liquor and shot glasses against a green background. Signature missing. Jan (Johannes) Strijbos (Eindhoven 1896 - Merkelbeek 1977) was a carpenter. After he retired, he became a self-made painter in the naïve style and crafted the frames for his works himself. Condition: good; frame shows signs of wear. Dimensions: image plane 19 x 20 cm, with frame 22 x 23 x 1.5 cm.
