Goltziusmuseum

The Goltzius Museum, located in the Goltzius Building, was the municipal museum of Venlo. The basis of this museum was a collection of (art)historical objects related to the city of Venlo. In 1993, however, the Goltzius Museum and the Limburgs Volkskundig Centrum merged into the Limburgs Museum. As a result, part of the Goltzius Museum collection was given on loan to the Limburgs Museum. After the museum's vision changed, some objects were returned to the municipality because the objects in question no longer fit in with the story the museum wishes to tell in the future. The municipality is now looking for new owners for the objects that have no clear relationship with Venlo and for objects that have no or little cultural-historical value.
