Description

Sir Robert Naunton (1563-1635) was een Engels politicus die meerdere malen 'Member of Parliament' was. In 1614 werd hij geridderd, waarna hij de functies 'Master of Requests' en 'Secretary of State' verkreeg. Daarnaast was hij ook schrijver, bekend is zijn werk Fragmenta Regalia, or Observations on the late Queen Elizabeth, her Times and Favourites. De prent toont een aanziend borstbeeld, gekleed in tuniek met molensteenkraag. Rechtsboven het wapen. Het adres leest: "Sir Robert Naunton Knt. Engraved by Robert Cooper from a painting in the Possession of Mr. Read. Published Okt.1.1814 by Smeeton St.Martinslane." Afmetingen: ca. 19 x 12 cm. Conditie: vergeeld papier, vlekjes, tekenen van ouderdom. Datering: 1814.
