Museum De Zwarte Tulp

Museum de Zwarte Tulp is the museum of bulb culture and bulb-related art. It tells the story of the bulb culture: the centuries-old history, working the land with its seasonal rhythm, scientific research, export and tourist promotion. In addition, the museum gives a good picture of how different artists have been inspired by bulbous plants throughout the centuries. 

In 1985, the museum opened in a former bulb shed in the centre of Lisse. The museum is surrounded by a museum garden, where a variety of bulbous plants bloom in season.
