Het Nieuwe SchoenenMuseum

The Nieuwe SchoenenMuseum will open its doors in 2022 in the side wing of the former town hall on the Raadhuisplein in the centre of Waalwijk. The Nieuwe SchoenenMuseum focuses on the shoe. In addition to collecting and exhibiting shoes, the production of shoes will also play an important role. In the 'Maaklab' (Designer Lab), designers and makers work to develop new products. 

The museum collection, which is displayed in the exhibitions, the knowledge centre and the library, provides inspiration or explains the techniques used. The visitor is not only an observer but can also design, make or investigate. This creates a link between the makers and the visitors, between the Maaklab and the museum spaces and between the past, present and future.

The objects on offer at the MuseumDepotShop come from the old museum known as the Dutch Leather and Shoe Museum.
